PLAYER INFORMATION

Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you play TankGol.

Effective:

These terms apply to the TankGol game, its online features and this website ("the game") by Mesut Duman, an individual developer in Istanbul, Türkiye ("we"). You agree to these terms by accepting them in the game or, if the game has not asked you to, by creating an account or playing. The game asks you to agree to them, shown as our Community Rules, before you first set a player name, write profile text or name a tournament. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you downloaded the game from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if these terms conflict with it, Apple's agreement wins for App Store downloads.

Which version this covers. These terms describe TankGol with online accounts, including friends, friend matches, gifts, tournaments and in-game reporting. Earlier versions without online accounts kept progress only on the device; the parts about accounts, friends, gifts, tournaments, moderation and account deletion apply only to the online version.

In short
  • Connect Apple or Google in Settings > Account, or a lost phone can mean a lost account.
  • Virtual items have no cash value and stay in the game. Refunds go through Apple or Google, and refunded purchases are removed from your account.
  • Gifts can't be returned or exchanged. Custom tournaments give no prizes; the season champion wins the Champion title and the season's champion tank.
  • Zero tolerance for objectionable content, abusive players and cheating. Report it in the game, block it, and we will act.
  • You can delete your account at any time; you have 30 days to change your mind.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to play TankGol. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms for you and is responsible for your purchases. Do not use TankGol where the law does not allow it.

2. Your account

When you first open the game, it creates a guest account for you on our servers. A guest account is tied to the sign-in key stored on that device. If you delete the app, reset or lose the device before connecting a sign-in, the account and everything in it cannot be recovered, and we are not responsible for that loss.

To keep your progress, connect Sign in with Apple or Google in Settings > Account. You can then open your account on other devices. A connected sign-in stays linked to your TankGol account until the account is permanently deleted. If you sign in with an Apple or Google account that already belongs to another TankGol account, you can switch to it; the progress of the device's current guest account is not merged and is lost unless that account is connected too.

Uninstalling the game does not delete a guest account from our servers, and afterwards nobody can open it. If you want it deleted, use Delete Account in the game first; see our Privacy Policy. Guest accounts that were never connected to Apple or Google and have not been used for 12 months may be deleted, together with everything in them.

Your account is personal. Do not sell, buy, share, lend or transfer it. Keep your device and your Apple or Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens through them. Your player name and Player ID are public.

3. Your licence to play

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to play the game on devices you own or control, for non-commercial purposes. The licence ends if your account is closed or you stop using the game.

4. Virtual items and energy

Gold, diamonds, EXP, energy, tanks, turrets, balls, stadiums, icons, season tanks and other in-game items ("virtual items") are part of the game:

  • They have no real-world value, are not money or property, and cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game.
  • Buying diamonds or earning items gives you a licence to use them in the game, not ownership.
  • They cannot be sold, traded or moved between accounts, except as gifts bought in the shop (section 7). We do not recognise any sale or transfer outside the game.
  • Diamonds and gold are used up when you spend them, and spent currency is not returned, except where the law requires it.
  • Energy refills over time. League and friend matches cost energy, and so does creating a tournament; bot matches, joining a tournament and tournament matches are free. You can refill energy with diamonds, with limits. The current amounts are shown in the game (today: 10 energy per hour, up to 100; 5 per league or friend match; 50 to create a tournament, taken when its lobby opens and given back if the lobby closes with fewer than 3 players).
  • League ranks and points can be reset at the start of a new season.
  • Season tanks: at the end of a season, each player receives one season tank, the version for the highest league whose first reward on the reward road they unlocked that season, and the season champion also receives that season's champion tank. Season tanks are not sold and do not come back in later seasons.
  • If virtual items reach your account by mistake or through a bug, we may correct your balance.
  • Diamonds you buy do not expire. We will not remove them except to reverse a refunded or charged-back purchase (section 5), to correct an error, as a sanction under section 11, or when your account is permanently deleted or closed.
  • We may change, rebalance, limit or remove items in the game and their prices. This does not reduce the diamonds already in your balance.
  • All virtual items are lost when an account is permanently deleted or closed.

5. Purchases and refunds

Diamond packs are sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play and paid under their terms. Prices are shown in the store before you buy. Diamonds are added to your account once the store and our server confirm the purchase; if something interrupts this, they are added the next time the game starts.

Refund requests go to Apple or Google (for Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play: Google Play refunds). If a purchase is refunded, reversed or charged back:

  • the diamonds from that purchase are removed from your balance, even if this takes it below zero;
  • if your balance goes below zero, gifts you sent after that purchase are taken back from the players who received them, newest first, until the balance is covered;
  • while your balance is below zero, you cannot spend diamonds or send gifts, and diamonds you get later pay off the balance first;
  • we may also remove items bought with those diamonds.

A notice in your inbox tells you what was removed and why. Rewards you earned by playing are not affected. If a refund is reversed, we give back what we removed. Refunds also count towards sanctions: after a second refunded purchase you cannot send gifts for 30 days, and a third suspends the account. You can appeal by emailing support@tankgol.com.

Deleting your account does not refund purchases, and purchases cannot be moved to another account. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

6. Random rewards

Only the Daily and Weekly Wheel give random rewards. The odds of every prize are shown in the game before you spin, and results are decided by our server, not by your device. Wheel spins cost gold. Quest chests have fixed contents shown in the game, and some include free wheel spins. A random reward has no guaranteed result. The odds shown in the game at the time you spin are the ones that apply.

7. Friends, gifts and tournaments

Friends and friend requests need a connected account. Limits apply, such as a maximum number of friends (100) and of requests per hour.

Friend matches: you can challenge a friend who is online. A request lasts 5 minutes. When it is accepted, each player pays 5 energy. Friend matches give no gold, EXP, league points or prizes (a finished friend match still counts toward friend-match quests and achievements), and their result is decided by the same rules as league matches.

Gifts:

  • are bought in the shop with diamonds, at the shop price, and only for items the recipient does not already own. Season items cannot be gifted;
  • can be sent by players with a connected account and level 10 or higher, up to 3 per day (the day starts at 04:00 UTC), to a friend or to a Player ID. Check the player card shown before you pay: a gift sent to the wrong player cannot be returned;
  • reach only players with a connected account whose Accept Gifts setting allows it (All, Friend or No), and never players who have blocked you or whom you have blocked;
  • cannot be refused, returned or exchanged. A gift waits in the recipient's inbox until it is claimed; if the recipient already owns the item by then, the diamonds go back to the sender;
  • may be taken back from the recipient if the purchase that paid for them is refunded or charged back (section 5), or in cases of fraud or abuse;
  • carry no message.

Custom tournaments:

  • can be created by players with a connected account, for 50 energy (section 4). The host names the tournament (section 9), chooses its region, size (3 to 64 players), whether it is public or private, and whether late joining and spectators are allowed, and invites friends;
  • invitations last 5 minutes, and the lobby lasts 10 minutes and starts with at least 3 players. Matches are knock-out: tap Ready within 3 minutes before each round, or you lose by forfeit. In a draw the higher seed goes through, and a match our server cannot verify is played again once;
  • the host can disband the tournament or disqualify a player at any time. A tournament that is still running 65 minutes after its first round starts is closed without a champion;
  • give no rewards, prizes, EXP or league points.

The season tournament:

  • at the end of each season, the top 16 players of the season leaderboard by points are entered automatically. Only connected accounts that played at least one league match that season, and are not suspended or waiting to be deleted, can take part; TankGol staff accounts do not;
  • it is a knock-out with one round a day. Before each round, players pick two of three match times; a player who does not show up at the match time loses by forfeit;
  • the winner is the season champion: they hold the Champion title until the next season's champion is decided, and that season's champion tank is sent to their account. There is no money or diamond prize.

In a tournament, your name, Player ID, flag, level, league and results are visible to the host, the other players and spectators. A public tournament can be opened by any player who has its tournament ID, the season tournament by all players, and the season champion is announced to all players and shown on the public leaderboard. Live spectating is not available; finished tournament matches can be watched as replays, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Community Rules: zero tolerance

TankGol has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This section and section 9 are the Community Rules the game asks you to agree to. Players who break them can be removed from the game. You agree not to:

  • harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, in the game or because of the game;
  • use hateful, discriminatory, sexual, violent, obscene or otherwise offensive names, profile text, social usernames, tournament names or report text, or use emotes to harass;
  • send unwanted friend requests, match requests, tournament invitations or gifts to harass or spam other players;
  • impersonate anyone, including TankGol staff or moderators, other players, streamers, well-known people or brands;
  • share personal information about yourself or others (such as addresses, phone numbers or email addresses), or try to get it from other players;
  • advertise, spam, promote other services or scam anyone, for example with "free diamonds" offers;
  • buy, sell, trade or give away accounts, diamonds, items or gifts for real money or anything outside the game;
  • cheat: use hacks, modified apps, bots, scripts, macros or other automation, exploit bugs instead of reporting them, intercept or change network traffic, manipulate match results or replays, lose on purpose, trade wins, or use several accounts to boost rankings, rewards, tournaments or gifts;
  • attack, overload or disrupt our servers, get around rate limits or other protections, or access accounts that are not yours;
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer the game, except where the law allows it;
  • abuse refunds, payments or the report system (for example with false reports);
  • break any law, or encourage others to break these rules.

9. Names and player content

Player names are 3 to 16 characters long and may use Latin letters (with accents), digits, _ and -. Some words are reserved, and each name can be used by only one player. Your first name change is free; after that, the free changes and prices shown in the game apply. Your country flag can be changed once every 30 days.

Profile text (a short quote and social media usernames) needs a connected account and level 10. Links, email addresses and phone numbers are not allowed; social accounts are added as a username only. Tournament names are 3 to 24 characters long.

"Player content" means your player name, profile text, social usernames, tournament names and report details. You are responsible for your player content. It must follow section 8 and must not infringe anyone's rights. Before you first set a player name, write profile text or name a tournament, the game shows the Community Rules and asks you to agree to these terms. Names, profile text, social usernames and tournament names are checked automatically for offensive words, and profile text and social usernames also cannot contain links, email addresses or phone numbers. These checks are not perfect: the rules in section 8 apply whether or not the filter catches something.

You keep any rights you have in your player content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, filter, format and display it, and to show it to other players in the game and in TankGol services such as leaderboards and tournament pages, only to run and moderate TankGol. The licence ends when the content is removed or your account is permanently deleted, except for copies the law requires us to keep, copies in backups until they expire, and snapshots in other players' match history.

We may filter, hide, reset or remove player content at any time if we believe it breaks these terms.

10. Reporting and blocking

Block a player, with any account, from the … menu on their card in Social (your friends, requests and search results) or with Block Player on their profile. They are not told; they are removed from your friends, cannot send you friend requests, match requests or gifts, are not matched against you in league matches and no longer find you in search. You can unblock them in Settings > Blocked Players.

Report a player, a name or profile text in the game: use the report button on the player's profile (you can open it from Social, the leaderboard, your match history or a gift), or REPORT in the … menu on their card in Social. Choose a reason and, if you like, add details. In-game reporting needs a connected account. Anyone can also report by emailing support@tankgol.com with the player's name or Player ID, what happened and when. You can report a player you have blocked.

We review reports and aim to act on objectionable content within 24 hours, by removing the content and, where appropriate, removing the player who posted it.

11. Moderation and sanctions

If we believe you broke these terms, we may, depending on how serious it is and whether it happened before:

  • reset your name to a default name (your next name change is then free);
  • remove your profile text and social usernames;
  • give you a warning;
  • stop you from sending gifts;
  • remove virtual items, currency, league points, rewards or gifts gained by cheating, exploits, fraud or refunds;
  • suspend your account for a period of time or permanently;
  • permanently close your account.

We can act without warning when needed to protect players or the game. When we take action, we tell you in the game, unless the law or safety reasons prevent it: a name reset, text removal or warning arrives in your inbox with the reason, and while your account is suspended the game shows when the suspension ends (or that it is permanent), the reason where we give one, and our support address. A suspended account cannot play online, use friends, gifts or tournaments, report players or buy diamonds; it can still read its inbox and delete the account, and unclaimed rewards wait until the suspension ends. You can ask us to review a decision by emailing support@tankgol.com with your Player ID; a person will look at it again. If an account is closed for serious or repeated breaches, virtual items and purchases are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

12. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete Account, or as described on our account deletion page. The account is frozen for 30 days, and you can restore it during that time. After 30 days it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. You lose all virtual items, including purchased diamonds, season tanks (which cannot be earned again) and unclaimed gifts and rewards in your inbox. Purchases are not refunded.

13. Changes to the game

TankGol is an online game: most features need an internet connection and our servers. We do not guarantee that the game will always be available or free of errors. Maintenance, outages or connection problems can happen, and a match affected by them may be lost or not counted. You may need to update the app to keep playing.

We may update, change or stop parts of the game, including features, virtual items, prices, seasons, tournaments and events. We will try to give notice of important changes in the game, on this site or on our Discord. If we decide to shut TankGol down, we will give reasonable notice in the game or on this site where we can.

14. Our rights in the game

TankGol, its name, logo, art, sound, code and other content belong to us or our licensors. Apart from the licence in section 3, these terms give you no rights in them. Other names and logos, such as Apple, Google and Discord, belong to their owners.

15. No warranty, limited liability

The game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress, virtual items or data, including losses caused by outages, bugs, lost devices or guest accounts that were not connected. We are not responsible for other players' behaviour or for third-party services such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat or Discord. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes will be decided by the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live (for example, consumers in the EU keep their mandatory consumer rights) and can bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please email us: most problems can be solved quickly.

17. App Store and Google Play

iOS: Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your licence to the app; these terms add to it. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the game, its content, or support or maintenance for it.

Android: the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your use of Google Play, including purchases made there.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you about important changes before they apply (in the game where possible, or on this site). Continuing to play after a change means you accept it. If you do not agree, stop playing; you can delete your account at any time.
